Here I have compiled a list of addiction recovery resources. This isn’t any simple resource list. Here you will find the ultimate guide to addiction recovery resources covering EVERY aspect of a life of recovery. From recovery sites to self-help talks, to self-improvement blogs. Everything you need to make your life in recovery the best life ever! Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive in.
ADDICTION RECOVERY BLOGS
A great recovery blog for women recovering from alcohol, divorce, mental health issues, and much more. The author, Ashley is a recovering alcoholic herself and delivers must-read content.
Addiction and recovery, straight up. The Fix is one of the first addiction recovery blogs that I came across. Here you can find info on anything dealing with addiction or recovery that you could think of. Plus, my very first guest post EVER is featured on The Fix. Check it out —>HERE<—. There are some great blog posts on this site and I mean great. (The people that comment never have anything nice to say so, don’t even bother feeding into that shit – Sorry just being honest.)
Holly Whitaker is the creator of this sober blog and she is badass. She shares her method of sobriety with others and I love this site. Love, love, love. Holly also has the Sobriety School which is an 8-week coaching course on living a sober life, the life you want. Can you say awesome?
Pretty self-explanatory if you ask me. Sober Mommies is for sober moms. It’s a very cool site, professionally done. It’s a non-profit organization. Julie Maida is the woman behind it all and points blank, she is badass. She has even been on the hit show, The Doctors. God, do I love that show and she killed it. FYI – It doesn’t matter what you were addicted to. If you want support from other moms. This is the place to be.
This list could not be considered the ultimate guide to addiction recovery resources if I didn’t include my blog, Unjunkiefied. The one thing that separates Unjunkiefied from the other addiction recovery blogs is that I don’t just talk about coping skills, triggers, and rehabs. Here we dig deep and I guide people in starting over, reaching their full potential, getting their shit together, and overcoming obstacles from the wreckage of the past. And so – so much more. Unjunkiefied kicks ass! Come on, the tagline says it all, SERENE-SOBER-BADASS! Wow, this was shameless self-promotion but if you don’t love your blog, then why create it in the first place?

BLOGS FOR LOVED ONES OF ADDICTS
Hands down, leahgrey.com is one of my favorite addiction recovery sites ever! The topics, the stories, the package, it’s all pretty dang good if you ask me. Although, Leah Grey is not an addict but, the wife of an addict. Her site is dedicated to people whose loved ones are lost in the chaos of addiction. Remember, addiction is a family disease, it affects the entire family.
A blog by a good friend of mine, Kim Dewberry. Transforming Normal is for adult children of alcoholics. Addiction affects the entire family, especially the children. The trauma that the child of addicts endures is detrimental. This is a place where those adult children can go to recover, support, and console one another. Kimberly has done a great job of reaching out to others, as she shares her own childhood experiences.
ADDICTION RECOVERY WEBSITES (Find rehabilitation centers, services, educational information, etc.)
One thing that I am not too familiar with is alcoholism. Yet, if you need help with it, I got you covered. Alcoholtreatment.net has a ton of resources, information, and help available for those who suffer from this disease. As said, ask and you shall receive. If you struggle with alcohol abuse, this is a site that you need to check out.
Drug Rehab addicts and their loved ones with the best information possible. Here you will find resources and tools to overcome addiction and pursue lifelong recovery. We are here to help you or your loved one every step of the way. Due to the opioid epidemic affecting us all, you may want to read their HEROIN GUIDE.
PROFESSIONAL ADDICTION RECOVERY ORGANIZATIONS AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES
US Drug Rehab Centers (Find a rehab in any location in the United States)
Now, onto the resources that will help you create and maintain an awesome, kick-ass, wonderful, amazing, fulfilling life (in recovery).
Single Mothers Grants is a dream resource. In short, it’s a directory of every and any assistance program you can think of to help with everything from education to rent and utilities. It’s amazing. This is a must visit website for any parent or family struggling or ready to build a new life.
MENTAL HEALTH BLOGS
Look familiar? These are my fav mental health resources ever! For a more detailed explanation, check out the post 5 Badass Mental Health Blogs. Continue on to a few mental health blogs that I just discovered and are quickly becoming favs of mine.
SELF CARE BLOGS
Let me begin by saying, Facebook is for the birds but, it is an essential form of communication in this techy world in which we live. uhh, eww, blah, barf. Can you tell I really freaking hate FB? Yet, I am a blogger/freelance writer among other things so, I do go on Facebook. I get pulled into aimlessly looking at stuff that is irrelevant to anything I am doing. You have to be careful not to get sucked into the drama. Even in the groups where chaos is NOT allowed. Somebody always finds a way to be a bitch or to try and belittle someone else. All of that being said, if you still are going for it then these groups are the ones you want. The admin in these groups stops drama right in its track. Thank GOD! Finally, someone doesn’t want to hear it. So, check them out.
This FB group is specifically for mothers on mat including Methadone, Subutex, Suboxone, Vivitrol, etc. It has some pretty cool administrators. Plus, you can find a lot of advice and help here from mothers that have personally been through it. The admin is incredible and doing big things! These are some recovering mamas who are not afraid to go after their dreams! Amazing is putting it mildly.
You guessed it, this FB group is for sober mommies. It doesn’t matter what addiction you are struggling with, they do not discriminate, and everyone is welcome. The boss lady, Julie is straightforward, helpful, supportive, and will not put up with any bullshit. If your fine with being in a group that includes all addictions, this will be great for you. The Sober Mommies Blog is listed above as an addiction recovery blog resource.
If you are on methadone, this is hands down the best group in my opinion. The administrator, Dez is a complete sweetheart who makes this FB group a laid back, easy going atmosphere where you feel completely comfortable. That helps in being able to share your problems with others. The people there aren’t ignorant and offer real and raw support and advice
