Hello there. Welcome to Unjunkiefied. Formerly known as Maintaining Miracles with A LOT of changes. Let’s get started.
I’m Tash, a recovering addict that has worked my behind off to create a new life and be the best that I can be. While I have come a long way, I still have a lot of work to do. After being in active addiction for 10+ years, I have learned a lot and seen too much. Much more than I care to admit.
Recovery is a lifelong commitment. You must be ready to take that plunge. In addition, we all reach that point where enough is enough. It’s getting clean or dying, there really is no in between.
Is Unjunkiefied Right For You?
If you are new to recovery or have been clean for years, this site is just for you. It’s for those people in recovery who feel STUCK. Recovery from drug addiction talks about all the blessings and good things that happen once you are clean. As former addicts, we still want that instant gratification. Some of us have been patiently waiting for years for those miracles to happen and they simply don’t.
Why do you ask? Why am I not reaping all the benefits of sobriety? Becuase it’s a thing called life. We can’t erase our past. Even though, I wish I had a do over plenty of times. It just doesn’t happen. You have to remember to NOT let your past define who you are becoming, how far you have already come, or what the future holds.
Think about this…
Do you ever think what’s the point of staying clean? My life is not progressing as it should.
My relationship is falling apart. We were in love when we were junkies.
My past legal issues are preventing me from having any type of career or making “good” money.
People still look down on me because of my past even though I have been clean and sober for years.
You start to get bored with the everyday monotony and yearn for that “crazy” lifestyle.
Do any of these statements hit home? If even one does, then Unjunkiefied is the place for you.
There are recovery missions that take trips to Bali or go on sober cruises. Oh, how nice that would be. Yet, let’s be realistic. You are a woman struggling to get by, wanting more. With kids to take care of and a criminal record. Maybe, you’re like most of us who just don’t have the time or money. Hell, I’m a felon so, I can’t leave the country.
Here to Help
Here at Unjunkiefied, we are recovering addicts who keep it real, raw, and simple. Our lives center around being three things – SERENE, SOBER, and BADASS. With that mindset, you can conquer the world regardless of your past.
And guess what? I am here to guide you along the way.
The Good Stuff
Now, let’s get down to business.
Unjunkiefied is broken down into categories to better help you.
Anything and everything that has to do with our addiction from treatment options to methadone maintenance. Remember it doesn’t matter how you recover, it’s that you DO recover. If you are new to recovery, this is the place for you to begin your Unjunkiefied journey.
You guessed it. This category is all about you. From self-care to self-discovery. To reach your full potential, you must take care of yourself. In active addiction, we slacked on that just a little or maybe a bunch. So, let’s start with the basics. You have to work on you – mind, body, and soul. Take care of yourself and love yourself from the inside out. Sound simple? It’s a lot easier said than done.
This is one thing that I am real big on. Drug addiction (or any type of addiction) ruins our relationships. Especially those with our children. Many of us even lost our children. Others worry about their children becoming an addict because they were. Bottom line – parenting is hard enough. Being a parent in constant recovery is even harder. We don’t have a glass of wine to wind down once the kids are in bed. Well, we could but we choose not to. We find other ways to maintain our sanity. If you’re a mom or dad in recovery, take some time to read these articles. It might just help.
Ah, yes that thing that so-called “normies” seem to do with ease. Have control of their LIFE. Let me clue you in, life is chaotic. Yet, so are we. So you see – there’s a balance there. We have chosen to live instead of to die from our addiction. Now we are sober and reality sets in. A house, job, school, groceries, cleaning, bills, pets, family, relationships, dealing with the wreckage of the past, overcoming trials and tribulations and not succumbing to relapse, financial situations, children – the list goes on and on and on. Let’s tackle it. Trust me, it gets easier with time.
I was raised old fashioned, the woman takes care of her husband and family. Taught to be second best. Yet, I come from a broken home. Over the years, I watched my mother endure physical and emotional abuse and stay. She always stayed. I told myself that I would never let a man have control over me or have to rely on somebody else. My significant other and I raise our daughter to be able to do things for herself. He teaches her to do the things a man does so, that she will NEVER have to rely on a man to take care of her.
Also, I began researching feminism. Only to discover that feminism is equality. No bra burning, hairy armpit, man-haters. Equality. A woman’s dignity, self-respect, focus, and motivation is needed to become a badass bitch. Hence, the category ALL WOMAN was born. My addiction actually helped me to see the power that women possess. The lessons I learned inactive addiction have helped me to evolve into the woman I am becoming. I will show you exactly how.
Finally, if you want to know a bit more about “yours truly”. You can find out about me, right HERE or simply shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will answer any questions you might have. Or if you simply want to know something personal that I didn’t put in my story, ask. (You’ll never know if you don’t ask. Simple)
THE SOBRIETY LIBRARY
One of my favorite things on Unjunkiefied’s site is The Sobriety Library. It is a collection of FREE resources such as printables, guides, checklists, desktop wallpapers, affirmations, workbooks, etc. All of these tools assist you in your life of recovery.
Although, The Sobriety Library is not for everyone. You MUST subscribe to the UNJUNKIEFIED site to get access. All you have to do is enter your email address and BOOM! FREE INSTANT LIFETIME ACCESS! Easy peasy, right? Plus, you will receive a weekly newsletter with some good info. I will NOT spam you or give your email address to anyone else. There’s nothing that I hate more than receiving multiple emails daily about the same thing over and over and over again from the same person. I unsubscribe real damn quick when that happens. Point being, no worries. You’ll love it. So, if that sounds like something you want, then the signup form is right below this.
If you don’t want to subscribe to Unjunkiefied, I still have some pretty cool resources for you too. Here’s an entire list of stuff for you to check out (other blogs and websites) that can guide you in the right direction. There are even Facebook groups that I recommend joining. Yes, I am a member of every fb page or group I linked too. And all the blogs I listed are my absolute favorites. You can find all of this cool stuff, RIGHT HERE!
Last but not least, we need to keep in touch. By now, you know that support is crucial to your recovery and what better way to stay connected than social media.
Here are all of Unjunkiefied’s social media accounts. Sorry but, no Instagram. My 18-month-old takes and loses my phone on a consistent basis so anything that deals with having an app on my phone is NOT happening. Kids, what can ya do?
I am not a fan of Facebook (DRAMA) but, the Unjunkiefied Facebook Page is f-awesome. Every day there is a ton of quotes and kick ass sayings that will really hit home. It’s badass and I’m not just saying that because I manage it. The subscribers love it. I’m constantly getting msgs about how great it is. Point being, check it out for sure!
Take a look around, enjoy your stay, tell your friends, and keep coming back.
Don’t forget to subscribe and become a total SERENE, SOBER, BADASS recovering addict.
Remember, don’t let your past define you. Here we will work together to create the life of your dreams, reach your full potential, and become everything that you thought was impossible. In recovery, anything is possible. We aren’t junkies anymore. We are UNJUNKIEFIED.
